Green Stripe Lawn Care was founded by husband-and-wife team Chris and Jess Maynard with a single conviction: every home lawn deserves the same care and precision given to a championship golf green.
We're a local family-run business that treats every lawn as if it were our own. Chris brings 23 years of professional turf management expertise; Jess ensures every client receives seamless communication and a premium experience from first call to final stripe.
The Greenkeeper
23 Years on the UK's Finest Turf
Chris Maynard didn't just learn lawn care on the job — he studied it. With a BSc (Hons) in Turfgrass Science from Myerscough College (University of Central Lancashire) and 23 years of hands-on greenkeeping at some of the world's most demanding courses, he brings a level of scientific understanding that sets Green Stripe apart from every other lawn company in the region.
His career began in Aspley Guise in 1999 and took him across four countries: Pinehurst in the USA, Palazzo Arzaga in Italy, The London Club in Kent, and Gulf Harbour in New Zealand — some of the most prestigious courses on the planet. At each venue, Chris mastered the art of reading turf: the colour tells you about iron levels, the texture reveals thatch depth, the bounce reveals root structure.
In 2010 Chris founded Green Stripe in Milton Keynes. When he and Jess relocated to Bude in 2024, they saw an opportunity: the lawns of North Cornwall and North Devon were crying out for the same level of scientific expertise that Chris had been delivering to professional sports facilities and world-class courses for over two decades.
Green Stripe was relaunched from that gap — bringing degree-level turfgrass science and genuine championship-grade knowledge to residential and commercial properties within a 40-mile radius.

Jess is your office manager — a dedicated customer co-ordinator. While Chris is on the roads and lawns of the South West delivering your programmes, Jess aims to answer all your questions.
